The student body at HBKU is international, with over half of the students coming from outside of Qatar. The university offers scholarships to outstanding students from all over the world. IELTS or TOEFL is required for admission.

There are five colleges at HBKU: College of Islamic Studies, College of Social Science and Humanities, College of Engineering and Science, College of Law and Public Policy, and College of Health and Life Sciences. • Scholarships are available to full-time students who have attended at least two semesters at one of seven Qatar universities.
• In order to be eligible, applicants must have a GPA that is 3.6 or above.
• IELTS or TOEFL scores may be required.
• The deadline for HBKU scholarship applications is from May 15 to June 5.

HBKU offers a number of scholarships and loans to help students finance their studies. To be eligible for a loan, students must demonstrate financial need and meet other criteria such as maintaining a 2.5 GPA and being accepted into one of the university's programs.
